I first heard of Vonage from Richard Campbell. I then brought it up to a few people at work. To my surprise, they both already had Vonage setup and running at home. I've been looking for ways to save money on my budget so I dropped the minutes on my cell phone plan way down and setup up Vonage.
First off, I went to Best Buy and purchased the LinkSys Vonage box. It was $60.00 with a $50.00 mail in rebate. When I got home, I went to the Vonage website, gave them my cc number, and within about 5 min. I had a phone number that rang the house. I was very impressed, especially since the monthly service is only $24.00 a month.
There are a ton of cool features that I will probably never use. If my internet connection ever goes down, calls are auto-forwarded to my cell phone. I can also setup normal call forwarding. I get an email anytime someone leaves me a voice mail. I can have phone numbers in different area codes. All sorts of stuff. Check out their website for more info.
