I love Microsoft Media Center 2005, but I still haven't bought one. A friend started the trend in my circle of geeks by building one from scratch shortly after it was released. It was sweet. Another friend at work now has one up and running, and yet another friend from work is getting ready to buy the parts for his. They are all convinced that MCE is great and so am I.
So why haven't I bought one? Well, I'm still undecided. The problem is HD content from my cable company. From what I know, I can't watch pr record the HD content through my MCE. I can do off-the-air HD, but I have many HD channels from Comcast that I want to watch and record. If my Comcast box didn't have a sweet DVR I would probably get an MCE. If I add an MCE to my setup, then that means I have to switch inputs on my TV just to watch HD... that sucks.
Does anyone know of a solution for recording and watching Comcast HD through MCE?
