Why didn't anyone tell me that starting/running your own business is so much work :).  I must say I absolutely love the flexibility I now have, but I'm working a lot more.  For me it is totally worth it.  I love the work I'm doing.  I love the networking and meeting new people.

A friend of mine and I went out and met with a third party claims administrator last week for a sales call.  They have a lot of interesting ideas for a web portal and it looks like I'll be helping them out.  If all the details work out for me it will be a big win, giving me experience in the medical insurance field and dealing with HIPAA.

I am filing the articles of incorporation this week.  That's exciting.  I will hopefully have time soon to put some marketing material up on my web site.

I posted a while ago saying that I would blog about starting up a company.  So far I've learned that, at least for me, things go a lot faster than you might expect.  If you are thinking about starting your own company, I would suggest getting things like your business entity, accounting, etc. in line ahead of time so you can pull the trigger when you are ready.  I'm lucky that my wife is interested in all the business type stuff and is handling it.  If I had to do all of that and get the work done I'd be pretty stressed out.
